Morwen Millson, who represents the Horsham Riverside Division for the county council, has stepped down as the leader of the Liberal Democrat Group after the recent election results.
In a letter (see page 9) Mrs Millson extended thanks to voters in the county. She said: “I know that many people who tend to vote Labour in national elections supported me both this time and in the past.”
The Liberal Democrats lost 10 seats across West Sussex in the recent elections making it the third largest party in the county after UKIP which is the main opposition party.
Dr James Walsh of the Littlehampton East division has been confirmed as taking her place as the group leader, and Mrs Millson will continue representing the residents of Horsham on the county council.
