Piazza Italia, Horsham’s annual Italian extravaganza, returns this weekend (Friday 29 March, Saturday 30 March and Monday 1 April).
Good Friday will see a fleet of almost 100 Ferraris role into town at 12.30pm and park in the Carfax, along with a cavalcade of Ducati-led Italian motorbikes arriving in town at 12.15pm. Also in spirit of the Scopa theme for the weekend, Battlequest Games will be holding their own Scopa demonstration, allowing those attending the chance to play the game from 10.00am to 4.00pm.
As if that weren’t enough, The District Post will be in town all day Friday meeting and greeting people – and we’re bringing balloons and cookies! Come and say hi and pick up your copy of this week’s paper at the same time.
Saturday heralds the arrival of the Italian Job themed Mini Rally from 12.00pm till 3.00pm, parking around Carfax, East Street and Market Square. The day will also see several entertainment acts to excite and delight those attending. The Mini Run Mobsters will be returning from 11.00am till 5.00pm, brining their own unique blend of street performance to the day. Granny Turismo will be tearing round the town from 11.00am to 4.00pm, engaging audiences and bringing more hilarity.
Easter Monday, the final day of the event, sees the crowning glory of the event. Super cars will grace the streets, as well as Italian scooters. Of course, throughout the weekend, there will be and Italian market, selling fine produce including food and crafts all weekend.
Ciao for now!
