Review by Davey Pearson
The Holbrook Club played host to the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, on Friday, February 15 – well, almost.
The Almost Elvis band sold out the club and upon arrival the venue was absolutely packed and the atmosphere was buzzing. Rock and Roll was playing and everyone was getting in the mood to bust a move.
There was a terrific family feel at the event with a crowd made of people of all ages. There were also a few kids in Elvis masks, ready to rock and roll.
Elvis took to the stage in an all in one black leather suit and belted out some of his early classics including Heartbreak Hotel, Hound Dog, and Jailhouse Rock.
Elvis really worked the crowd, moving round the room and singing to tables and even climbing up on some of the tables and strutting his stuff.
The band performed for around 40-45 minutes before an interval took place.
The band returned with a new image, Elvis came out glammed up in his Vegas years and performed some of his later hits from his time on the stage in Las Vegas.
He continued working the crowd and even took one lucky lady back to the stage with him to serenade her.
As the night went on couples started to get on and dance, and kids and grandparents started to get up and dance which created a great atmosphere.
Elvis was supported by a fantastic five-piece band that did a fantastic, tight, and professional performance.
All in all it was a great performance, a great venue, and a great night. It was really good value for money and I highly recommend seeing the Almost Elvis band perform for a great family night out.
