Wins for Horsham Boxing Club fighters

Boxing –

Horsham’s Tom Tennant made it three wins out of three by edging a close fight at the King Alfred, Hove.

The 21-year-old from Pulborough clinched a majority points verdict against Brighton and Hove’s Ru Malik, a strong opponent who contributed to an all-action fight.

Lee Cole, Horsham’s head coach, said: “There was nothing in it in the first two rounds, but Tom’s burst of punches at the end of the third probably made the difference.”

Horsham’s Jack Aitcheson, 18, from Southwater, stopped debutant Germaine Malcolm (St Gerards, Chichester) at Westgate Leisure Centre, Chichester.

Aitcheson was quickly into his rhythm and dominated from the opening bell, his performance proving too much for Malcolm who retired at the end of the second round.
