Sam Grant, who plays for Steyning in the Sussex League, has been added to Sussex’s Academy intake.
The 17-year-old from Brighton College, who bowls left-arm seam and bats in the top order, joins Horsham’s Ben Shoare as part of the county club’s programme for talented young players.
Keith Greenfield, cricket performance manager for Sussex, said: “Les Lenham (veteran Sussex coach) approached me about Sam and how well he was developing, so we kept an eye on him and invited him to practice with our development squads and Academy.
“He performed very well and we had no hesitation in offering him a place. He clearly has the drive to improve his skills and we look forward to helping him achieve his goals and aspirations.”
