Football, by Andy Robinson –
Boss Simon Colbran slammed Jordan Clarke after the new signing’s sending off proved pivotal in Horsham’s latest defeat.
The Hornets produced an improved performance but remain winless in 2013 as Eastbourne Town took advantage of Clarke’s early dismissal to win 3-1 at Gorings Mead.
Horsham were a goal up when the former Bognor Regis man saw red for striking an opponent – leaving his team down to 10 men for more than 70 minutes and his manager fuming.
Colbran told The District Post: “The sending off was ridiculous. We were 1-0 up and looking good, then Jordan goes and does a thing like that.
“He’s let the team down – it’s inexcusable. We’ll have a decision to make about him now because we want the right attitude here and without the sending off we would have won the game, without a doubt.
“We were much better today (Tuesday) and we lost to three wonder strikes. The workrate was exceptional and that’s all we can ask of the lads. I asked the players to show it on the pitch if they wanted to stay and they more than did that.”
