Horsham district schools break world record

Children at two schools in Horsham district helped break a record, Guinness World Records has confirmed.

The world record for the most people signing and singing a song simultaneously was broken during the sign2sing event, organised by national charity SignHealth. A total of 114,277 pupils and teachers across Britain took part, including 166 from Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School, Horsham, and Jolesfield Primary School, Partridge Green. The two local schools raised £154.95 for SignHealth, the healthcare charity for deaf people.

Steve Powell, chief executive of the charity, said: “We are delighted to have broken the world record for the second year running and will try to beat it again next year (February 6).”
