Horsham District Council: Didn’t they do well?

Horsham District Council has published its annual report for 2011/2.

Residents can read about the council’s achievements and judge how well it delivered on its priorities. They can find out where the council’s income comes from and the cost of providing services for residents, businesses and visitors.

The report also gives an insight into what residents think of council services. Of those residents who replied to a recent survey, six out of 10 said they were satisfied with how the council runs things, with only one in 10 dissatisfied. The survey suggests that activities for teenagers are in most need of improvement.

The annual report includes information about how the council is run, what it does and how residents can get more involved in local decision-making. The council says the year ahead will be challenging for councils, residents and businesses, but a new business transformation programme will help it make the most of its assets.

Cllr Ray Dawe, leader of Horsham District Council, said: “Despite facing unprecedented financial challenges, the council has achieved a great deal in the last year. The annual report shows how well we have delivered on our priorities. Horsham has been voted as one of the best places to live in the UK and the district is considered to be one of the safest in the area.”
