Be aware of theft in Horsham district

Three posters have been designed to make people aware of the risks associated with theft.

The posters are each targeted at reducing a different type of theft – mobile phones, handbags and bicycles – and are being displayed across the district by the Horsham District Community Safety Partnership.

Chief Insp Sharon Parker, of Sussex Police, said: “This is a really positive campaign containing simple, practical tips on how to reduce the risk of this happening to you.”

Cllr Sue Rogers, Horsham District Council Cabinet member for a safer and healthier district, said: “I hope this campaign will alert us all to the risks of theft and how devastating it can be, and to take just a few moments to ensure our valuables are out of sight and carefully stored.”

As part of the community safety partnership, the district council works closely with Sussex Police, the Sussex Police Authority, West Sussex County Council, Saxon Weald, West Sussex Fire and Rescue, Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust and NHS West Sussex.
