Height-fearing sisters prepare for skydive

Afraid of heights and flying? What better way to spend your time than jumping out of a plane at 12,000ft?

That is the challenge facing Southwater sisters Emma and Rachael Knowles as they raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The skydiving event will take place over South Cerney Airfield, Gloucestershire, on Friday.

Emma, 19, and Rachael 16, who has just left Tanbridge House School, said: “We have a fear of heights and flying, but we decided to do something extreme to raise money for a great cause. The money will help Great Ormond Street build a new heart and lung centre. We are looking forward to the skydive, especially as it is raising funds for an amazing cause, but we are apprehensive.”
