Shedding light on Steyning Grammar project

Steyning Grammar youngsters designed candle holders for the Rev John Challis, from Upper Beeding.

Year 10 Resistant Materials pupils came up with designs and manufactured prototypes using woods, metals and plastics.

Mr Challis and Martin Leigh Pollit, manager of Fabric, awarded iTunes vouchers to prize-winners Ella Richards (first), Phoebe Menear, Emma Westall and Joe Cragg. All have been invited to see their designs used during the Christmas service at St Nicholas Church on Sunday, December 23. Their work will be exhibited at the church on August 25-27.

Chris Gibbs, head of faculty for Technology, said: “All of the designs were spectacular and students deserve a merit for the quality of their projects. I am very proud of them.”
