John Williams has taken over as president of Horsham Lions – succeeding Deryck Wright, who presented the chain of office to him.

Mr Williams, who worked for the National Grid for 38 years, has been a Lions member since 1980.

He said: “My aim is to continue to help the disadvantaged and marginalised in our immediate locality and to respond to needs nationally and internationally.”
