Members visited social housing provider Saxon Weald, including tours of the Standing Court eco-housing development, in New Street, and Osmund Court, Billingshurst.
Carol Hayton, of Horsham Labour Party, said: “It was great to meet up with senior members from Saxon Weald, who provided us with a real insight into the high-quality social housing developments they are delivering for the people of Horsham district.
“In particular, the new development on New Street showcased Saxon Weald’s commitment to build high-standard, eco-friendly social housing, which will dramatically reduce both heating and electricity bills for their residents.”
David Hide, chairman of Horsham Labour Party, said: “It is clear to us that social housing providers are keen to develop affordable homes for local residents and are doing an excellent job locally. But it is even clearer to us that we need many more developments like the one at the top of New Street to house all those on our own waiting lists.
“I would urge everyone to sign Robin’s Burnham’s e-petition at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/16859 so that we can force our politicians to debate this pressing issue.”
