Good Samaritan gets on his bike

Motorcycling Samaritan David Exley dropped into the Horsham and Crawley branch in Denne Road, Horsham, during his 6,000-mile ride around all 201 UK branches.

The Samaritans volunteer, 64, was met by Cllr Leonard Crosbie, chairman of Horsham District Council, branch director Gill Ross and local volunteers. Mr Exley is completing the ride in memory of brother Tim and son James, who both took their own lives.

He said: “I really hope that my challenge will mean that more people will be aware of the support Samaritans offers. That way, some good can come out of what has been a very difficult time for me and my family.”
