Police believe a body discovered in Horsham woods is that of Jennifer Marsh.
A man walking his dog found the body of a woman in dense undergrowth at Leechpool Woods at 6.20pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Police have investigated and the death is not being treated as suspicious. A post mortem will be carried out. The body has not yet been formally identified but is believed, very sadly, to be that of 59-year-old Jennifer Marsh.”
Ms Marsh was seen at home in Littlehaven Lane at 9.30am on Wednesday, May 30. She was reported missing at 8.30pm the same day after failing to leave a note for her partner, something police said was out of character.
Police, the West Sussex Neighbourhood Watch search unit and Sussex Search and Rescue team searched Leechpool Woods and Owlbeech Woods.
This followed information from a member of the public who contacted police to say they saw Ms Marsh in Leechpool Woods at 11.20am on the day she went missing.
Posters, including a photograph, were handed out to horse riders and walkers around the Horsham area.
